I had a fender bender few days ago while the car was parked. My supervisor's van backed up and hit my car's driver side headlight and smashed it up and bent the edge of the hood and the fender...He admitted that it was his fault and was very sorry when it happened. It is still drivable.

I took it to an auto body that was referred from Honda dealer. I got a estimate and it cost $3,413 to repair it! They faxed it to my employer and my boss said sorry about what happened and will take care of it. It seems that newer cars are more expensive to repair after an accident since the parts on the car are more complicated and more difficult to work on.

I have the copy of the accident report for myself and the pictures of the accident on that day. They have the pictures and the accident report, too. I'm still waiting for the word from my work for a go ahead on taking my car to the auto body shop or the auto body will contact me, either way. Let's see what happens and I will give you more updates.

I guess shit happens...

Well at least he admitted to doing the damage, i just hope for your sake that he follows through with his agreement to pay for its repairs.

Yeah, we will see what happens. My employer will pay for the damages because it's their company van under their insurance. Thanks for the heads up.

:jaw: that lots of money to repair wowowow does your superviour (sp) pay for it ?

^^ I already answered the question you were asking. Thanks Yes, it's a lot of money to repair damage from accidents.

Yeah I know its crazy how much new cars can cost to fix, I have a new tahoe and I got in a hit and run the only thing damaged was a little paint missing, a tiny dent, a scratch and my tail light broken. But my insurance totaled up the damage costs at 2,400.

I was shocked.

Wow, $2400 for that? That's pretty high for that kind of damage. I remember I accidently sideswiped a car and it caused his car $750 damage with a black mark on the side of the car, expensive paint job there.

Totally, but when I looked a the bill a lot of the money went for labor. Which I suppose is understandable. I would want to get paid a lot for that kind of strenuous labor.

Deafmonkey,

I do hope my car gets fixed soon as possible so I don't be driving my nice car with a ulgy looking dent on it.

Yeah, same here..there was a lot of labor involved in that estimate including the repainting and parts and new headlight unit and straightening out a few knicks.

oh yeah I hope so be better to look so nice before you drive :) .. My mom got accident in 1999 or 2000 that she was just on her way back home from work but someone have been hit her and got her sore neck and right arm but didnt break just bruise. Right now she have hard time to lift her right arm like cant reach up the shelf at all just only limit can reach not too high that is all. :)

Foreign cars are more expensive to fix than domestic cars! Honda are very expensive to fix, but the positive thing about Honda is that they hold their value much better than domestic cars do, and they last darn longer than any other makes! Im seriously considering about trading my Jeep with Honda! I am kinda of fed up with Domestic cars and these UAW jerks! All they care is MORE MONEY and don't care about us.

that's great that ur supervisor is very honest and helpful than dissing you and w/o telling ya.

I would say bad idea! Wouldn't want invite jealous co worker and deal with them in the long run! If this truly happens, this would show everybody "FAVORTISM" and this is gonna piss alot people off.

Anyway, it is nice to have that kind of dream!
