You can go to this website:

hiptop.com :: Index

Go search and browse through threads to find answer to your question. IMO sidekicks are only thing you need and its has cheap plan rate. I dont like others cell phone because of KEYBOARDs. sk's keyboard is heaven and perfect fit for my hand.

I never liked the Sidekick.

I'll tell you what. It really depends on what your needs are. Can you tell us what you will want to use your phone/pager for? Are you going to use it for:

Personal email
Business email
IM
Internet
Relay
Pictures
Video
Music
GPS
911
Weather
News
Chat
Phone
High speed modem for laptops

If you list what's important to you, then we can help make the best recommendations.

Sounds like a SK3 is what you want.

BlackBerry 8700g is best of all, but only one sux program is AIM...

Let's deconstruct this:

Internet:

The best devices for internet access are any Windows Mobile device like the PPC-6700 or the Treo 700w. In my opinion, the next best are the Blackberry devices. The least best for internet access is the Sidekick series.

IMs: The best device for IM access is the Sidekick, with the Blackberry close behind. It really depends on the IM program you'll use the most. The Windows devices are still weak in this aspect.

Relay: For built in programs, the Blackberrys excel at relay. There is only one relay program for the Sidekick, and none for Windows Mobile. For AIM Relay, both the Blackberry and Sidekicks have AIM programs that take advantage of being able to make AIM relay calls.

Personal emails: Sidekick, Blackberry, and Windows Mobile all have excellent personal email setups.

Chat: Well, this one is a bit confusing. What do you mean by, "chat?" I take chat to be trying to use an IRC or group chat program, and none of the mobile devices do that well.

So, in conclusion, since you're concerned about ease of use and cost, here's what I know:

The Sprint Blackberry 7250 is still being sold at $99 with a $29.99 a month plan.

The Sidekick 3 is being sold at $299.99 with a $29.99 a month plan.

Look at the other phones online from Cingular, T-Mobile, Sprint, and Verizon. See what you like, and let us know which ones you think are good, and we'll let you know.

What's your high price you can go for monthly service?

Let's deconstruct this:

Personal emails: Sidekick, Blackberry, and Windows Mobile all have excellent personal email setups.

The Blackberry 8700g with T-Mobile, or Cingular's BIS service easily beats the others. The SK only has one, unreliable, tmail service. You can set up up to 10 accounts on the BB and send from the BB using whichever account you choose. BB's push email is still the best as well.

Personally, I agree that the Blackberry series are MUCH better than the Sidekick. My Blackberry 7250 and 7130e kick so much ass with multiple email inboxes and different ways to organize my work email, personal email, gmail, and other accounts.

FYI-SK3 now on sale to 199 dollars with no rebates via deafpagers.com or 149 dollars with no rebates under to NY's wireless store (Iforget whats their website address)
