let's assume you want to get private insurance. can you afford it?
No, I can´t afford it.

oh? curious - now that you're covered by German's nationalized healthcare...
German healthcare system is mandatory in Germany.
Germany´s universal health care system was first introduced by Otto von Bismarck in 1883.
you have to wait for months and months (or sometimes years) to see a doctor/specialist, right?
No, I can go to see specialist to make an appointment for next day or 2 days. I can go to see doctor immediately without make an appointment... and waiting time is up to 30 minutes. I don´t have any experience as put me in waiting list in Germany like what I did once in UK.
and another question - the amount you pay for German's nationalized healthcare.... is it nearly same amount as the cost of private insurance?
No, I choose any healthcare company, I like to and pay the amount to follow % of my monthly gross wage.
We do have private insurance here in Germany which is different as I pay social insurances to follow % of my gross wage.
Private insurance is likely household insurance... Example: You want to have gold dental crown, teeth dental implant or any laser... something "luxury..." where the cost of healthcare system is not cover. It´s up to the people if they want something luxury like gold crown.... dental implant, etc. It´s good for the people who can afford to pay extra health insurance for luxury.
A person who earn over €4,000 gross wage per month then they can look for private insurance if he/she don´t want public healthcare system but if they decided for private healthcare then they still have to follow % of their monthly gross wage. Most prefer to insure public healthcare system over private healthcare system.
I would never afford to pay private healthcare if I live in the USA. It´s very expensive.

for answering my questions. about your last statement - I find it puzzling to why would you say that. You can not even afford a private insurance in your own country. I don't even make €4,000 gross wage per month (about $5,700 a month) and yet I have a private insurance. oh? curious - now that you're covered by German's nationalized healthcare... you have to wait for months and months (or sometimes years) to see a doctor/specialist, right?
