Canada earthquake causes rumbling in Rochester

It was centered near me in otttawa. It wasn't that bad..shook my bad and was like wait a min i didn't set my alarm clock..lol so then I knew it was an earthquake..it rocked the bed but nothing fell in my apartment. Dunno about my aunts house..she's down the street but a bit closer to the plates that are near the canal. She's also in a house..dunno if being in an apartment building lessens the quake or what? But I'm alive! so no harm done :D
 
Too bad that I slept though, and the Richter scale registered at 4.2 and that scale is about 4 miles away. I have always wondering what it was like when experience earthquakes. I had too many close call, and missed calls as well. :dunno:

You must be living on solid bedrock in your area, maybe that's why hard to fell quakes. In Seattle, the land is built on liquified soil/dirt which is why it shakes alot when quakes happen. I remember going thru a 6.8 quake in Seattle back in 2001, it did shake a lot causing everything to roll around like in waves! The quake was centered not far from Olympia at a depth of 33 miles.
 
They shake hard here in California. I've been in too many and don't care to experience another. My house handled a 7.1 quake and was still standing except the chimney.
 
my gf live in close Quebec close ontario :) no worry i know on earthquark I will check it ask see find out my gf!
