I was always told that when you are on medicaid or medicare you arent allow to get married since it will mess up the insurance. Me and my boyfriend have been together for a while and we met on myspace. He has told his sister in law that he would marry me but can't since it will mess up my medicaid. I've told him it would but I need to do more resserch on it. I dont want to be on his insurance since you never know later down the road, I love this man to death and I hope there is a way it all can work out. I would marry him in a heartbeat. Please give me some ideas.

Sheesh! This is a new one I've never heard of! I would think you could get married, why not? Pardon my being blunt, but I think a person could be in love just as much on MA as if they aren't and the desire for companionship doesn't change that.

Anyone know for sure?

All I know if you married, your medicaid will stop. It depend how much on your boyfriend wages. Your boyfriend will have to increase payment on his health insurance premium. That is all I know of.
The best thing is talk with SSA and find out.
