I have just been watching the advertisement up the which says "it's a miracle!, you can hear it all, start hearing clearly today" etc

I am wondering if that is possible.
I tried hearing aids it really didnt help me one jot!
It all noise and shee, shee, like untunable radio.

Somebody tell me something.

Don't know which ad you are referring to. Sounds like "Miracle Ear" but who knows.

To answer your question, there is no device that is man-made that will provide "normal" hearing (in the sense you can "hear it all"). It just doesn't exist. However, HAs and CIs are capable of giving one decent (sometimes very good) hearing depending on the person's circumstances.

There are other factors as well that go into hearing and they can be problematical as well.

I assume you are deaf by your statements. What is the nature of your deafness?

can you really hear it all

my doc.told me the auditory nerves are normal however seems to say severely hearing impaired with right ear better in frequency. thats all I know about my hearing and cos i didnt hear with the hearing aids( the first one was a solar recharging, the second digital behind the ear hearing aid.) I really dont know much about hearing aids. my doc.said he thought the digital was supposed to help but he cant say for sure why it doesnt work.
i havent been wearing hearing aid for about 5yrs.
but i was just thinking it might be possible to have one that might be quite maybe ok or something.

I see what ad you are talking about. I just noticed it in the upper right corner of AD. You were talking about the bone conduction device. Ummm, you really need to determine what you need before going further. If you have tried HAs before and they weren't clear, maybe you have a bone conduction issue. The bone conduction device would be of help in that case.

Bottomline - You need to deal with a specialist to narrow down what ails your hearing and hopefully their will be a solution available for you to consider. Be prepared to accept the fact there may not be one.

I wish you the best of success!

Hi,

Back in the days when I could still hear I remember going in for a hearing test where they hooked me up to a bone conduction headset. An audiologist should be able to put one on you to see if that does make a difference. Even one of those hearing aid centers that give free evaluations might have one of the headsets so you can see if it would work for you.

Good luck

Er...*cough* definitely off topic...

Tao - Love your avatar...

Back to regular programming...

It's weird that BoCoHa ad remind me of today's Doctor Who episode
SCIFI.COM | Doctor Who click the that says "Season Two
DVD Extra
Watch a deleted scene from "Rise of the Cybermen." (Expires November 4)"

and notice the guy in suit has something in his ear. (both!) saw that episode, Rise of Cybermen, last night (friday) and it was good.
