Dixie, I understand that, honestly I do! I also (as a teacher) understand wanting to tell these people to invest a little more time in learning or researching through a variety or resources outside the internet. But, in my opinion, not responding gives a clearer and better message than negative or berating/sarcastic responses. Then again, what do I know - I'm a hearie, a Canuck, am left-handed AND like my vegetables so I am not exactly the norm.![]()
If no one tells them, then who will? If the OP really wants to do better and is genuinely interested in interpreting, then she would come back, apologize and take this as a learning experience in interacting with d/hh people.
I really want the best for her as a student. However, I don't think it's right that we should allow ourselves to be some sort of lab rat either.
