Can diving damage the hearing?

When I dive, I immediately feel a strong pressure on my ears. Can this damage the hearing?
 
Probably not. It would depend on how fast and how deep you dive. i suppose if you had a weak timpanic membrane diving might bring on a tear that was waiting to happen. have yours inspected by a professional and heed their advice.

As a kid I dove a lot and it is normal to feel pressure there. If memory serves, that is.
 
It depends on what kind of diving you are talking about. If it is, what I think it is, the strong pressure on your ears could mean you are doing something right. And its not harmful. ;)
