Tonight my date and I went out to dinner - it was just at a chain restaurant but we had a good time. At the end of the meal the (very nice) waitress gave us the receipt and pointed out that there's a survey we can fill out and have a chance to win money prizes etc. Now I know the prizes are unlikely, but I decided to fill out the survey because I wanted to give her good feedback - I know people in jobs like that depend on good responses for different things: maybe raises, maybe keeping their jobs.
So I go online and fill out the survey, and there's one question per page, then you hit next. So I answer question after question, the last of which (well, the last one I answer) is my email address. Sure - they need to contact the winners, so they need a way to reach you, I get that. But then they want my full name and phone number etc. I hate that! I'm not willing to give out my phone number, and the only option besides giving it was to quit the survey, which meant that everything I said about our waitress was lost. That really bugs me. The have you jump through all these hoops, tying and going through each page, and at the end they ask you questions you might not be willing to answer, so the whole thing was a waste of time.
This has happened to me before, nothing new, but still frustrating.
