Personally, Bush is not evil and he is certainly not the Devil. I might say that he has lousy advisors and he doesn't really have a good handle on foreign affairs. Domestic policies are more his forte. Unfortunately, he got sucked into the foreign policy realm (far more than anybody ever anticipated) due to the 9/11 mess. He was quite content in focusing inward on the issues that bedevil the US as a country. Seems like everybody forgets that 9/11 changed everything and left him exposed in his weakest area. If he didn't act against somebody for 9/11, he would have been excoriated for it. Doing Afghanistan was the right thing to so since Bin Laden was there. Doing Iraq was a mistake (a big one at that...I knew it was from the start) and I'm quite sure they all know it now and trying to find a way out isn't easy as some like to believe.
Now to the main aspect of the thread...Whatever one thinks of Bush, I wouldn't take Chevez's notions at face value. Chavez ain't no saint himself and he sure rants with the best of them. Most of what he says is for public consumption at home to play the audience. It is mostly for show as he really has nothing to "show" for it at home. He main interest is power and become a "player" on the world's scene. With his country's oil wealth, he has the capability to do so. Otherwise, nobody would pay attention to the idiot.
