July 6) -- Kyle Kane is a big kid. The 12-year-old schoolboy from Coventry, England, stands a manly 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighs 147 pounds.
As crowds cheered and clapped, the youngster unofficially set a dead lift record Sunday by raising a 308-pound weight at a charity bodybuilding event.
The previous 12-year-old record holder, an American boy, dead-lifted a measly 236 pounds.
Kyle, the boy known as "Little Arnie," after Arnold Schwarzenegger, works out at a gym four days a week. In addition to his mighty arms, Kyle possesses powerful legs capable of shifting 600 pounds.
"I just want to be as muscley as I can be," he told Britain's Daily Telegraph. "Hopefully one day I can train in the Olympics or compete in the World's Strongest Man."
Kyle has been weightlifting for two years and also holds a black belt in kickboxing. He likes school, especially history and physical education. His family is struggling to keep up with his phenomenal growth.
"He can't even cross his legs because the muscles in his legs are so big, he eats us out of house and home and he's almost outgrown his school uniform, we're going to have buy him men's shirts soon," said dad John, speaking to the Telegraph.
John is a former professional bodybuilder who expects his son to best him any day now. He recalled to the Telegraph the first time he knew Kyle was exceptional, when he was 11.
"He was leg pressing in the gym and the whole gym came to a standstill and everyone just stared in amazement as he pressed 260 kilos [573 pounds], it was unbelievable."
Not only did Kyle break the unofficial world record with his monumental heave-ho Sunday, but also he raised more than $750 for the Multiple Sclerosis Therapy Center in his hometown.
