350!! I'm jealous of you!!

What will you do with rear? It seems like the rig has no tailgate.

I believe it has a tailgate, if not they are a dime a dozen here. I like the net for less wind drag but I will get a bed cover since I will haul stuff and need to secure it as I did with all my trucks in the past. I should have never sold my Ram... miss that damn thing. But Chevys get better mpg anyways.

Nice truck. Mine is a 75 Chevy Silverado C20 Special Camper w/ 350 cid, 4 main bolts, forged steel #182 crankshaft but awful cancerous body. Mind if I can part out ur completed cab. Pls pls...MPG is not doing well cuz of THM-350 tranny. No time to put a THM-700r tranny...BTW it came with dual fuel tanks...

No, missing tailgate actually increase the wind drag. Test have proved. With tailgate on it, the wind just go over the space, but without tailgate, the wind actually pulled by back of the cab causing some drags.

I used to have that truck before, nice one.

well looks like its a bomb. They took my offer for 700, then wanted me to pay another 300 to the title loan to get the title then I have to pay another 200 to get it towed home... nope, Im not responsible for their debts, you gonna sell something that's it. Im not running all over town with you to get the title, to have your parents sign it and so on... have that title in hand when I get there and heres your cash. They don't want to do any leg work, screw em. Theres more Im looking at. Not fond of FERDS but if that's what it is.....

Don't lean toward the deal. Sounds like scam. You have to witness the pink slip (title) to match the truck's vin/license plate and the residence address. Be careful

No not a scam, needs a little work so it needs towed home. I planned to ride with the towing company down and back, but instead of meeting and exchanging title while being hooked up, Im supposed to ride with them to pay the title loan to get the title as well across town there. I told them Id have cash in hand just pay the 300 get the title and meet me there, but the dad doesn't want to cough up the 300 in fear of not making the sale, I want this truck but Im not going to leave the tow guy hanging until we get back. Then the guy offered to tow it back for me, I asked if he had a trailer or flatbed, he said no, was going to pull it with a tow rope... I couldn't help but laugh, this truck is heavy... I owned a similar truck and they weigh tons ! Its not something you tie a rope on and pull it for hours.
Its an easy fix, but I don't feel like working on it in a lot in the middle of nowhere where it now sits that I am unfamiliar with the area. I think he's pissed the deal didn't go through, but I told him, have the title and Ill buy it.

Maybe you will get lucky and he wants to sell it enough to get the title. I wouldn't buy it if he couldn't present clear title, as there might be some reason he can't get it.

Don't laugh, I did that couple times, don't forget these Ford SuperDuty is much heavier than your truck and I could make it. Had to send SuperDuty to dealer. Found it was contaminated fuel. grrr! Your truck probably weight about half of what superduty weights. ;)

The secret is what? If a tow strap can handle up to 4K lbs and your truck is 5K lbs, double the strap to make it 8K lbs rated, your all set. Chain is much better, only issue is if it snaps best duck as fast as you can.

Another way, and I don't think you want try this since it will make you cough up more money. If your truck weights less than 5K lbs Harbor Freight has tow bar that cost only 60 bucks for 5K rated tow bar. Your truck got steel bumper so perfect, no need any other adapters.

I got a tow chain, but I hate that Jarring on takeoff, I only trust very few with pulling me anywhere or controlling a tow Im pulling... its a skill in itself.
There are a couple diesel trucks Im looking at, one chevy, one ford and a dodge all are 4x4 ford is a 4 banger, chevy is a 6 I believe and dodge is a cummins...hmmmm

Yeah if he gets it and free and clear Ill jump on it, but until then, its a no go for me.

Yeah, I prefer yellow towing straps, they are safer and when they becomes white, it is at end of useful life. Usually after maybe 10 pulling, that is it.

Diesel? Get Ford 7.3L or 7.2L, forget the rest or stay far far away from 6.4L.
