Not trying to start anything here BUT never cheap out on replacement brake pads or rotors. Paying that extra money is worth it. More expensive pads are going to have better pad material's which is going to help out with stopping. I have a lot of money in my brakes as I know first hand what happens when you cheap out on them.

Depend which city you live.

Chicago = expensive brake pad and last around 2-3 months (100 miles a day during heavy traffic at highway)

Small city = cheap brake pad and it last around year (mostly country road)

Yes, you are right. I've been tried on GM,Raybestos, Wagner, Bendix and other brands to serviced the brake jobs (of my personal vehicles) for years, and they are not same brake character as I sense the brake performance of my vehicles (after brake jobs) on the road, feels the semi metallic pads are more hard brake little more long brake distance than ceramic pads. I dont like semi metallic pads cuz they can scratching the rotor surfaces and create noises. I go with cheap brake pads for my old van.
