Suburban Newspapers - BPD nails trio with possession charges
Bellevue police arrested a former Ralston Public Schools teacher and two others on Tuesday.
Linda Jane Gelbowitz, 41, of Bellevue, was arrested with her boyfriend, Matthew Dugan, 37, and another man, Michael Carlson, also 37, said Bellevue Police Lt. David Stukenholtz.
Gelbowitz and Dugan both were charged with possession of methamphetamine, while Carlson was charged with possession of a stolen vehicle, Stukenholtz said.
Police found 4 grams of meth at the home that Gelbowitz and Dugan share.
Gelbowitz had worked as a resource deaf educator in the Ralston district for 15 years until resigning Aug. 5, said district spokeswoman Amy Thomas. Gelbowitz spent that past two years at Hitchcock Elementary School in Millard as part of the deaf and hard of hearing program the districts share. She had worked at Ralston High School and Blumfield Elementary.
Stukenholtz said police received a tip and got a warrant to search the home at 509 Bellevue Blvd. South.
It was the second set of similar arrests within a week for Bellevue police. Last Friday they teamed with Omaha police to bust three people on meth and marijuana charges in Omaha.
