Venezuela Dictator Vows To Bring Down U.S. Government

Venezuela government is sole owner of Citgo gasoline company

Venezuela Dictator Hugo Chavez has vowed to bring down the U.S. government. Chavez, president of Venezuela, told a TV audience: "Enough of imperialist aggression; we must tell the world: down with the U.S. empire. We have to bury imperialism this century."

The guest on his television program, beamed across Venezuela, was Cindy Sheehan, the antiwar activist. Chavez recently had as his guest Harry Belafonte, who called President Bush "the greatest terrorist in the world."

Chavez is pushing a socialist revolution and has a close alliance with Cuban dictator Fidel Castro.

Regardless of your feelings about the war in Iraq, the issue here is that we have a socialist dictator vowing to bring down the government of the U.S. And he is using our money to achieve his goal!

The Venezuela government, run by dictator Chavez, is the sole owner of Citgo gas company. Sales of products at Citgo stations send money back to Chavez to help him in his vow to bring down our government.

Take Action

Send an email to Chavez and to Citgo that you will not be shopping at a Citgo station. Why should U.S. citizens who love freedom be financing a dictator who has vowed to take down our government?

Very important. Please forward this to your friends and family. Most of them don't know that Citgo is owned by the Venezuela government.

Thanks for caring enough to get involved.

Sincerely,

Don

The fact that you get email from the AFA is very telling about how little you know about both domestic and international politics... Everyone who reads this thread should disregard it.

By the way, the government in Venezuela does not own Citgo, it's owned 50% by the company that has control over most of the oil in the country, in a fashion very similar to what was Standard Oil in the US. The other 50% is publically traded. Citgo is an American company, not a Venezuelan one.

American Family Association is a very well known organization that takes a very strong moral stand on the issues of the day. I am sure they checked their facts before starting a petition drive. I am very politically active and sign up for petitions all the time.

Heath, why not boycott international oil from the Muslim World?

I already do and I only buy American oil or another countrie's oil but not arabic oil. I had made a thread about this about 4 or 6 months ago.

Well, Dubya and Dick are gonna to be very rich as soon as they step out of their White House on Janurary 2009. They don't care which oil comes from since they just want to make more profits...

Also 7-11 convience stores are contracted with Citgo gasoline. They have gas stations at some 7-11 stores around here.

Tomorrow I take my drivers test. After that I won't care where the oil is from because I'm going to the service station with the cheapest gas. :)

Typo. It's spelled immoral. You can thank me later.

As for them checking their facts, they make up stuff all the time if it suits their agenda of hate. Do you actually pay attention to the news or do you trust a group like the AFA to provide you with all of the news fit to print? They put their spin on it just like the leftist groups do. Read news from multiple sources, preferably from ones that both share your views and ones that don't. Only then will you understand what is really going on.

I concur. As a Christian, AFA does not represent me, my values, morals or choice of what to wear on a daily basis. They need to mind their own business.

Good Luck, Reiko!! :thumb:

Heath,

I have to agree with everyone else in this forum. The AFA is not a particularly reliable source for many things. In the big picture, the AFA is just like Michael Moore, both rely on sensationalism and aberrations of fact.

CNN, the BBC, and the New York Times are all sources that are much more reliable than either Michael Moore or the AFA. If you cite them, everyone in this forum will take the words very seriously.

That's pretty sad, isn't it, when those are the "reliable" sources? I mean, ain't that a bitch?
The GOP noise machine revs up, folks, and yeah, why not get a grip and invade Venenzuela?
Never mind that Chavez was a popularly elected president (by a LARGE majority by the way) and never mind he stepped on some US Oil toes by increasing their costs of operating inside his country) and never mind we do not hear much about his Oil for the Poor program. What the hey, never mind all those. Let's just demonize someone who has popularity among his own countrymen and hell yeah, let's listen to someone who does not care of what the majority of his countrymen think. THAT is the dictator.
