Boy guilty of shooting his mother

Wow, that's very sad. Since, his lawyer says that he did it for chores that he have to do and his mom been abusing him lately? Why don't he say something before he did it? Geez, wow...

I wouldnt be surprised to see him tried as an adult in this court case since he's a pre teen...even thou he is a kid but he knows better than that when it comes to using a gun.

Another case of a child simply acting in the way they were taught to act. So sad.

Seems like our society is becoming more violent.

Seems like our society is becoming more violent.

Yes, it does, Bott. And the more violent a society becomes, the more tolerance we develop for the violence. That increased tolerance means that even more violence becomes the norm. It is a cycle that desperately needs to be broken.

this is true.

it seems that the more violence we are exposed to on tv and in newspapers, the more insensitive we are towards it.

when i was a child back in the 70s, i never would have dreamed of shooting my mother. <shakes head>

And, as an educator, jillio, I'm sure you've seen countless children acting out their favorite action hero (s) or television star and think it's normal. I think the way we need to stop this cycle is to stop attending movies in theaters that show senseless and endless acts of violence. Yes, we know the "violence" isn't real, but contrary to what Steel X said, a 12-year old does NOT know the difference from right and wrong, especially when firearms are involved. Firearms for self-defense? Oh pah-lease! Chances are more likely that the gun will be used against the person having it. Once that gun is drawn, there's no going back.

As to this family, the mother needs to keep her legs drawn in and get rid of her sex-starved boyfriend and raise her son the way he should be and quit sleeping around. Sheesh! I wouldn't let Snickers act like her, why do humans always have a problem with this?
