Bomb Threat Evacuates FSDB - Jacksonville News Story - WJXT Jacksonville
Hundreds of students at the Florida School for the Deaf and Blind spent four hours Friday on the football field after they were evacuated from the school from a bomb threat.
The school's principal said someone found a note written on a bathroom stall Friday at about 10 a.m.
The St. Johns County bomb squad was called and did a sweep of all the buildings on the campus, including the dorms the high school students saty in, with the help of a bomb-sniffing dog.
Investigators did not find anything, but parents were concerned that they were not contacted. Over the weekend the search for anything destructive will continue.
Monday morning students will be interviewed as a part of the investigation. Danny Hutto, the President of FSDB said because students were not allowed back into the building until 10 minutes before the school day ended, there was no time to send home letters.
