Board of Regents has no plan this year to try to sell School for the Deaf | argusleader.com | Argus Leader
The campus of the South Dakota School for the Deaf will not be sold anytime soon.
The 14-acre Sioux Falls site no longer holds classes now that the Board of Regents is outsourcing its programs to the Brandon Valley and Harrisburg school districts. But the campus still houses an auditory testing lab and administrative offices.
Jack Warner, the Regents’ executive director, said an analysis is under way to determine the cost of leasing some other space for those offices.
The Regents would need legislative approval to sell the campus, and they do not intend to bring such a plan this session. Warner said he has heard from people interested in leasing some of the campus next year.
