My next step is to get a license and get a Laughing Kookaburra -- although I don't think I will keep one officially in a cage, but maybe I will try to be a wildlife carer. That means if any animals are injured, I could take them in and nuture them back to health and then release back to the wild.
I wouldn't mind caring a koala, but they do smell (stink of strong eucalyptus)....a cockatoo and a kookaburra would be cool! :)

Cheers,
Goldie

Here's a picture of the Laughing Kookaburra....next picture will be the Sulfur-Crested Cockatoo. Both birds are natives of Australia. I had previously thought the Cockatoo was native to South Africa or other country, oops. Heheh.

I held a koala 3 years ago at Currumbin Sanctuary in Queensland when I went up there for a working holiday with 2 clients from my work. I have a picture of me holding a female 3 year old koala. Just have to scan it and post it here. :)

Yeah Pinkster...they're absolutely REAL!!! :P Heheheh! I have hand fed kookaburras a number of times at my aunt and uncle in law's home in country Marysville. It's an incredible sensation seeing them snatching a piece of meat out of my hand! I even got lucky in petting a few of them before they took flight.

AHHHHHHHHHHh LOL I KNEW u would be making some mistakes it's OK don't worry LOL! we re allowed mistakes or two from time to time, not to worry ofc :)

me just kicking back and relaxing right now and saw a bird that just REFUSES to budge i didnt want to run over that bird some sort of hawaiian bird totally brave little thing im like EH???? ok what am i to do, so i got out of my truck to see if i can shoo shoo it outta the street and it just stared at me like i was  im like oh jeez So i backed up my truck and swerved around it and took off my merry own way and i felt funny abt doing that so i stopped and turned my head at the bird and i relized the bird was injuried im like oh shit so saw my dad coming down the road and told him to stop and call humane society and dad did and i told him to go block one end of the street til the humane society arrived they did less then 5 minutes later and found out that bird had a broken wing so they took that bird to the wild life sactunary place and unsure of whats the update but glad i stopped on my instinct!

Oh, the poor bird! Would you be able to remember and recognise what it looked like? You could google a search on Hawaiian native birds and see if you could find a picture of it? So you could have an idea of what kind of bird it was and hopefully you can find out what has happened to the bird.

Goldie
