Bill Gates says "I'm never statisfied with any Microsoft Product"

I am one of those people who will never upgrade to Vista as long as major software companies continue to support XP, because there's nothing good about Vista that makes me want to switch.

And, I doubt software companies would dump XP in favour of Vista considering XP still has a dominant market. I guess thats what happens when a company is anti-competitive?

As for security updates... MS OS will also have holes in it anyway..:)

I hope Ubuntu will take over MS. I enjoy using Ubuntu, but never really kept using it as my main OS, because I need to use some Windows applications.

It would be great if the Ubuntu team could implement Wine, and make it easier to use.

Hey! have you download and install Ubuntu's new Hardy Heron, I know it's still at Beta version but few more days. I installed it in my AMD64 system that have Gusty Gibbon in it. I like it better than Gusty cuz of graphic card issue had be resolved. I can swap graphic card and boot it up, It'll autoconfigures graphic card. Great job Ubuntu!! I had been using Feisty Fawn for 4 months then upgraded to Gusty Gibbon then now Hardy Heron. I noticed that it is more stable than before. And getting easier to use.

Hiya Catty! :) Thanks for the suggestion. I haven't had a chance to install the beta version yet, because I don't have a spare HD at this stage. But, hopefully I will buy one by the fall of the week, and I will be sure to test the new beta. :)

LOL maybe try ask around friend who have old pc lying around or good ol' spare hard drive they don't use it anymore. I have 2 of 40gb hdd and 1 of 20gb hdd in use. I got it free from friends while fixing their pc and one of my friend found junked pc in trash. He gave it to me to keep and it had brand new 40gb hdd in it (It's a "gold mine" to me). few years ago, I used to have nearly 9 hard drives and now I'm down to 5 cuz rest of others drive space are too small and couple was damaged due to excessive reformatting and one (10gb hdd) was modded w/ plexiglass w/ LED light inside of it just to brag friend with "see through" hdd to watch read/write head vibrates like crazy with LED's strobe. LOL but it didn't last cuz I accidently bumped the drive and plexiglass "dust" settle on platter and damaged it

So take your time until you are ready to try Hardy Heron. I am not quite sure if new Ubuntu can run on Flashdrive yet.

1) Me either, too! I will stick XP window for few years till all new softwares as such Games, word process, others require Vista or require update for xp. thus, No choice for me, I will force myself upgrade to vista. what if Xbox games is capable on vista, I would be instantly upgrade to vista for guarantee! Ha! I knew its incapable....but vista pc games can playing against xbox games online only, sucks! anyway...

2) Yeah, Good question..I believe XP is still a dominant market, However XP users will running XP OS for years without upgade to vista. Like others who still do running 95 window and 98 windows.

It's not really under Apple. UNIX had been around for long time since 1960's but Apple emerged in 1980's then Linux emerged in 1990's. Both OSes used variant form of UNIX. It's the way how they program the OSes differently. BUT some commands are particularly similiar.

That's why it's not competitive. Linux can be program to run just like Apples in different way. You can choose one click icon to run program or double click to run program. It's kinda in between Apple and Windows in it's configuration. Linux and Apple does share it's strength and weakness. I sure hope that soon in future that they will allow multi-platform programs to run either Apple or Linux. It's frustrating not being able to have Shockwave Player for Linux which is the key plug-in for kids to play some online games. I don't know if Apple had it's share of problem. I recalled some website only provide Windoz only and it frustrates Apple users. OOVOO.com finally implemented Videochat software for Apple! but where's for Linux?? So that's one other problems. Programmers have to learn UNIX for Apple and Linux.

Both do have niice EYECANDY!!

Windoz Vista have wussy eyecandy.

Thanks
Catty

I don't disagree or agree with your post but interesting about history.

In Mac OS X, they used UNIX based instead of classic based OS, it was like Steve did worked with Nextstep in 90's and Unix based is supposed to be set on Mac OS 8 but denied until Mac OS X came out for varies of reason, such as most softwares that worked on classic Mac OS and won't work with Mac OS X without any patches.

I never said Linux is under Apple, I only said Mac OS X is based on Unix, that all.

“I’m Never Satisfied With Any Microsoft Product.”
Bill Gates’ last interview before he leaves Microsoft.

I'm wondering at all the shock and dismay over Gates's words. Microsoft has long followed the business philosophy of W. Edwards Deming's "Continuous Quality Improvement." The very heart of the philosophy is to never be satified with your product or service -- to always strive for improvement.

As usual, detractors have taken someone's words out of context and tried to incite a furor.

I agree with XBGMER. Why hate someone who made the computer affordable in almost every household and constantly worked to improve it?

Interesting! UNIX is pretty secure than older OS but it have it's own weakness tho. Patches helps fix the problems. Much more secure than Windoz LOL. I don't trust Vista at all. I know lot of people regretted that they should stick with XP LOL. I don't mind Linux being secure when it ask for password to use core setup program (such as Synapic package manager, Add/Remove program, and name the few). This will help prevent hackers from messing up Linux. But still it can get infected by trojans (which are rare in Apple and Linux tho). I haven't installed Linux antivirus tho.

PAC, I don't think so that I misunderstood you. I have your conversation saved via IM. I would throw "TOO PERSONAL" IM's garbage-conversation on this public post what you said to me, I dare you. But I don't want to, Because I respect and follow AD forum's rules.

FIVE WORDS: "Forget me and Move on".. is that too hard for you?
