A bigamist who bragged about his young bride on the Friends Reunited website was caught when his other wife found out about the site, a court heard.
Carl Wallace, 45, of Howgill Crescent, Oldham, Greater Manchester, received a 16 week suspended jail sentence.
He pleaded guilty to bigamy and making a false declaration for the purpose of procuring a marriage certificate.
Bolton Crown Court heard Wallace's wife had refused a quickie divorce after his affair with a 24-year-old woman.
Romantic honeymoon
Father-of-four Wallace, known by old school pals as "Wally" left his wife for Selena McDonnell - 21 years his junior - and the couple enjoyed a romantic honeymoon in Italy, the court was told.
But his wife of 20 years, Anne, 45, heard of the after a mutual acquaintance read the Friends Reunited entry.
Wallace had dated Anne since both were 17 and they were married two years later in 1981.
Adrian Farrow, prosecuting, said the marriage ran into difficulties after 10 years and Wallace met Miss McDonnell when she was 19.
He tried to get a "quickie" divorce but his wife refused so he decided to wait the statutory period of separation of five years which would have expired in July 2006.
But Wallace decided to marry his new partner at Lake Garda last September.
Mr Farrow told the court to marry in Italy Wallace needed paperwork from Oldham Register Office proving he was divorced.
Instead he told officials he was a bachelor.
But he could not resist contacting the Friends Reunited website, updating his entry at his old school, Spurley Hey High in Gorton, Manchester.
He told former school chums: "I am due to get married in September in Italy."
