I have seen and coached many Deaf Athletes. I myself was coached mostly by hearing coaches. I have noticed most Deaf Athletes DO NOT get the best coaching and DO NOT reach the potential as their hearing opponents. A big part is the communication factor. Many FEMALE interpreters do not interpret the message, mode, feeling, tone, etc of the coach to the Deaf athlete. Another reason is PARENTS. Many Hearing parents say...."It's OK....I know you are sore and tired.....thats fine"......BULLSHIT......Do you think Hearing parents coddle their Hearing Kids?....THEY DONT!!!! They tell them to suck it up and stop bitching! That is why most Deaf Athletes are in sports like Basketball, Baseball, etc.......you DO NOT see many Deaf get involved in WRESTLING! Deaf people would not feel oppressed like they do if they knew a TOUGH sport like wrestling.......and yes most other sports are not hard.....that is why many deaf do them. LOOK at your US DEAF WRESTLING TEAM!!! NONE of you give them respect.....they have produced many great people like UFC Fighter MATT HAMILL!!! There are many wrestling clubs around....get your kids involved.....they teach healthy nutrition and fitness. If you have any questions, please ask me. I am a VERY intelligent Deaf person who uses ASL.....but as you can see I can write just as well as a hearing person in English. Please Respond Deaf Community...I am just like YOU!!!
