Bias Attack on Lesbian Couple

MOD NOTE: I had to split this from the same sex marriage thread because this was off topic. Now this has its own thread and is in Current Events section.
 
Doesn't matter whether they are in same sex relationship or not same sex relationship. this bashing was wrongful. she is very lucky that she survived! 200 stitches, all of her long hair were shaved. these two kids of theirs were lucky too after the way these teenager put them in icecream truck was wrong too! it's like kidnapping but they didn't take off with kids :)

But these teenagers shouldn't have done that. I Hope they are found and are brought to court for assult etc.

Sabrina -- this is quite surprising with u posting a current event thread abt a lesbian couple and hate crimes and last i recalled u have advocated hate crimes this is a good article to take in consideration and my points --

now this article indicates its the KIDS that did the gay bashing -- "....group of teens delivered a brutal hate-fueled beating." kids still being cared for by their parents and were they homophobic qq yes they were -- why qq parents like u and in the end their lives will be ruined cuz of this hate crime along with assault -- im grateful the woman survived the assault and the kids that were involved will be locked up thats for sure -- they miss thier own highlights in their lives and whose problem qq theirs and their parents

as for the victims of this hate crime -- i wish them a speedy recovery and the arrest of the kids that were involved in this incidence
 
@ Flyfree: Please no directed judgments.

I agree with Flyfree that it is such a pity that the society actively encourages their children to hate certain groups of people such as homosexuals, black, hispanics, asians, etc... Hatred is not an inborn value, but a learned pattern. The children usually learn it from their parents and the community to hate certain groups of people.

How to stop such attacks? We need to educate people to develop tolerance and respect for all groups of people. Everyone are individuals, and there is no reason for us all to fit inside the norms and expectations of the society. We need to teach our kids to embrace diversity, develop tolerance and respect for their fellow human beings and not to hate people.

This lesbian couple has been quite fortunate to have survived the attack, but unfortunately, the trauma will stay with them forever. They will have to look over their shoulders and live in fear. There are some other gay and lesbian people who have been killed because they are homosexuals. It's like killing deaf people just because they can't hear.

DO NOT SPREAD THE MESSAGE OF HATRED.
 
Thank you very much Sabrina for sharing that article with us. No one should go through any kind of bashing, regardless of their sexual orientation, race and/or gender.. bashing is wrong. You're right Kootchie, it is a learned behaviour and sadly it is always up to others to teach those that bash others that it is wrong. However we cannot judge since only one person can do that and it is God who can do that. *sending healing thoughts to the family that went through this*

believe me, i absloutely have nothing against same sex couples or whatever, and voilence isn't going to solve anything.
