No idea, TDD is old device.

I don't need bother them.

Since you live in SoCal then suppose to get from AT&T, it's available in all area.

there is another alternative way to use tdd to call instead of internet phone or landline.

use Pager relay to call. it can be used on your mobile also.

good luck.

What brand do you have? Does it have a high speed command (keyboard button)? If yes, you can switch it.

My TTY is Ameriphone Q90. I have a COX cable and a digital telephone. I will find out to make sure that I still have the digital telephone service. I got one two years ago.

I also have an old Ultratec TTY, but I left it in my storage far away. I think it works fine with the digital line.

I assume that you have a caller ID, Call Waiting, and a Cox answering machine service - those have different type of distinctive rings. It blocks your TTY because the Cox thinks that you have a fax machine. My fax machine does not work unless I pay the Cox for a distinctive ring. If you have a fax machine and use a special adapter device to share both a telephone, TTY, and fax machine, this is not worth it because it is out-of-style.

The TTY have been phasing out big time. Start to accept the fact that TTY days is really over. But guess what? It is not totally over. You can use computer as TTY instead, and best of all it is F R E E! Visit NXi Communications Inc. - Home Page (2001-2006) and download their free TTY software and your on way to your own TTY, no long distance charges, no baloney fees there.

The real reason for TTY being phasing out is because of technologies that have been advanced so much, and the technolgies used on TTY is now invisible to naked eye, you'd need telescope to see it. Digital and Anaolog is NOT the same thing, and that is the problem.

Actually, I almost never use my TTY. I use my AOL IM to chat someone or even a video web. I don't know which websites that you can chat someone onlines. If my online is not working, I use my TTY as a backup at the last minute.

I don't understand you said "What brand do you have? Does it have a high speed command (keyboard button)?" what mean? tell me, which computer? or TDD?

Really Ultratec work ? my tdd is Ultratec 4425, not work connect

Maybe CableModem with VoIP are diffrent model not same me. I guess

I didn't explain it clearly. It's obvious! Well I asked you what kind of TTY do you have. My TTY Q90 has two different frequency pitch sounds that work with other TTY. I cannot find my manual book about it. I assume that I set it high that meet the digital frequency for the telephone line.

I hope that the Cox will be helpful for you to find out about your TTY. You have to say a TTY portable. She thought that it has to do with a computer modem.

Yes, I use Nexitalk.net on computer but can't 911 or if computer will crash, can't get nextalk.net, what I need do??? :-(, also I must shut down computer and I go bed, nextalk.net can't help, . if you want computer on bedroom, very sick computer's dust and smell burn! no good, TDD is recommandred! :-(

what talk about it?, I not need chat cox, I mean import TDD to family, friends, 911, etc.. I wish ANALOG back, I not want Digital version becuase Digital will not work all TDD

What town are you in? I am on chat online with Cox company in Hartford.

rhr, ok this thread refreshed my mind. what brand is your TDD ? it is because there are several types of TDDS that have the selections of analog and digital somewhere in TDDs menu. i remember my old tdd flashed saying " analog" or "Digital" on screen. this might be helpful if you give us what brand your TDD is. and i can google to find something that may convert the mode to digital from analog on your TDD.

wow that is tough not to live without TDD. :)

Most of hearing people never saw TTY/TDD how are they suppose to know what it is?

If something you never saw before, can you understand everything about it? Same idea applies to hearing about this.

I did call Cox this morning, cox said phone is fine, I tired tired!! they not understand about TDD between ANALOG and Digital, oh well
