Best Buy is encourage everyone to relocate in Minneapolis

Nah! I agree with you! I wouldn't want to live in icebox!!! Way way way too cold up there. I can't afford these heating bills 4 sure! Plus I know though friend of mine is that these twin cities goes DEAD after 2am!

I love cold weather but I just want get out of USA for some reason... I'm expected to relocate in Toronto in around early 2010's.

I bet that you are from southwest or something.

You lost your bet, dear! Now you owe me something!
I live just 50 miles across the lake from Toronto! I wouldn't recommend you move to Toronto... because you won't be able to afford living there. Very expensive, they got insanely high taxes. I have known some people from states moved to Canada and they quickly decided that they can't stay there any longer and came back!

I don't really care about it and Toronto is cheaper than many other cities in US like Honolulu, LA, SF, NYC, Miami, DC, Boston, Houston, Philly and Chicago. I checked apartment website and most bachelor and one bedroom are between $500 to $850 in Toronto metro, also I don't need car and I just using public transportation but it was moderate in LA because too limited. I have few best friend (all are hearing) that who live in Toronto and always give trust to them. I don't care about taxes but taxes are bad in US, such as federal tax are increase during war and no universal health center, also GOP is too weird and different from conservative in Canada. Other reason is about gay rights are much better and more stable than US does too. You never know that I can afford to live in Toronto though and sale tax is high because including GST and PST in combined are 15% compared to 8.25% in LA, other income tax are almost same as USA (tax brackets) or little less than USA depends on income, other 2 system in Canada like CPP and EI in small percent to protect employees from losing her job or something. There's GST rebate for low income to middle income in Canada, also no Medicare and Social Security too but Canada and USA are different then I have no compare with both of them.

I had researched in long time and learn alot from Canadians in other forum then you don't need insult me or force with my decision, then it's up to us and don't need tell to me. It's not nice to said "You can't afford to live in" and some people have no wise, also not know how to figure out with their money.

I find it hard to believe that federal taxes has shot up. I have always pay less and less taxes especially during Bush term. FYI the income taxes in Canada is at least 50%, I am not saying that your wrong, but I have heard horror stories about my friends who moved to canada. Whats more, I live just across the Canada, and I have been there. I know what it is like over there.

BTW, I am not insulting you, would you kindly show me where I am insulting you?

Not if you hang out on Hennepin Avenue. Tons of nightclubs, gay clubs, Restaurants, topless bars, etc. Tons to do on that strip at all hours of the night.

Yea, usually heat is included and you can't afford the heating bills!

I wouldn't rent!!! I would BUY and OWN DAMN property! That way, I would do whatever I f**kin want in my house. (Snickering)

You can try in suburb but suburb seems not fun to live, or can be moderate.

It is not because it is not fun to live... Suburbs are much safer to live in than in the inner city! Less criminal activities in burbs than in the city.
I personally would love to live in the country, but used to live in the city. Oh well.

1) You need find out at: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tax_bracket

2) You called me "You can't afford to live in Toronto" then that's part of rude comment.

Still very expensive to live in the suburbs even too. If you want a place for about $600 your best bet would be New Brighton, but it's not exactly "suburban Minneapolis". More like a ghetto suburb, if you ask me. I know, cause my sister lived in New Brighton. If you want a place for a little less than $600, I would suggest Saint Cloud, but even their rent is going up already. When I moved to Saint Cloud in 2001 everything was still affordable. But since then everything has shot up and I have been "pushed out of Minnesota" due to the higher costs of everything. That is one of the reasons I moved down to Texas.

Some inner suburb in LA is tends to be poverty but crime is low to moderate, also I'm from inner suburb, that only about 18 miles away from Downtown LA and South Van Nuys are nice place and most houses are built in 1950's but great landscape, also some part in North Van Nuys are poverty neighborhood with shitty pre-1940's houses but ALOT of post-1970's apartments and townhouses, also same in section of Van Nuys. We aren't not far away from Pacoima that where Pacoima is so poverty, ugly old houses and some junkies in land but Pacoima had been old district and poverty since early 20th Century but it got much worse in 1970's, also Pacoima is formerly mixed neighborhood with working class blacks and white before most latino were moved in this area in 1970's. I love Van Nuys but it known as sweet America suburb, rich of history and some influence from spanish culture. Van Nuys has been much improving than in 1990's since most old abandoned big ranch homes and junkies are demolished for replaces into new apartments and gated community houses.

Van Nuys, Pacoima and rest of LA are rediciously expensive because 2 bedroom/1 bathroom houses that built in 1940's in Pacoima are around more than $500,000. Most rental properties in LA for 1 bedroom/1 bathroom are start from $1,000 to $2,500 and also you need have car to around LA too.

Yea, I heard that Texas are very cheap, and I might consider move there once Im settled with education. Im going back to college again this Winter time. I have less than a year to finish the degree. :-D My Best friend may move down there and Im gonna follow his ass!!! I hope his business will become very successful so I can work for him. hehehe

Yes Yes... LuciaDisturbed telling the truth.. Yes, its true what going on in Minnesota..

We are living in high cost housing that we cant help it as long we live under roof till things go bad then we will be moving closer to my man's family home..

things are really crazy now..
our electric bills are like 300 a month..
Food are real expensive.. milk are like 3.98-4.35 a gal...
and pleasures or events are real expensive.. like 5 or 10 dollars more than before..

they dont balance or management the budget.. like.. living cost are high than family/work income..

sad..
