Ok, let's say I'm in Milwaukee, WI and I want to find few Salvation Army locations in that area, I can use google. I can find all Salvation Army out there with google.

What I'm trying to do is find the best map for locations. See, I would like to know this Salvation Army is 2 miles East from where I am. This other Salvation Army is about 4 miles West from where I am. You see where I am going with this. I want to know which place is 1 mile from me. Which one is 5 miles from me.

What Android application(s) if any would you suggest?

Android should already have Google Maps included already. With that, you can just type in "Salvation Army" and it will show you all the nearest locations to where you're actually standing. It's usually "A" that comes up as the closest, "B" as the second closest, "C" as the third closest, etc...

Thank you very much. I never thought of that. I typed in "Salvation Army" and got the closest location. I didn't get 2nd and 3rd closest location.

Multiple locations only work if there are multiple locations in the area. Since you didn't get more than one location, it's probably because there's only one near where you live and the others are nowhere near where you live or too far to be shown on the map of your region.

There's not many Salvation Army stores around here. I have only one near where I live too.

Do a search for McDonalds or Taco Bell, you'll probably see a map full of red dots. ;)

Wanna see something cool?

Here are a few finger "commands" you can do on your Android Maps...

One-Finger Commands:

1.) Put your finger on the map and move your finger around. That will move the map around.

2.) Double-tap a spot on the map. That will zoom in one level. Double-tap again to zoom in another level.

Two-Finger Commands:

1.) Put your fingers together and then put them on the map. Spreading your fingers apart will zoom in.

2.) Put your fingers apart and then put them on the map. Closing your fingers together will zoom out.

3.) Put your fingers apart and then put them on the map. Rotating the fingers will cause the map to rotate.

4.) Put your fingers together and then put them horizontally on the map. Now, slide your fingers downwards. The map will tilt as if it's switching to 3D mode. If there are pre-drawn buildings on the map, they will appear. Sliding the fingers back up will switch the map into 2D mode. (You can put your fingers apart before touching the map and get the same thing... as long as the fingers are horizontal, not vertical.)
