Being around "disabled" makes one more sensitive and have higher self esteem.

Yup, read that the other day and I see the positive side of mainstream school. I grew up though 100% Deaf School. So never experience mainstream. I can't answer for mainstream Deaf student, but I see the better exposure, the easier to get along with them in future.
