I'm from Memphis, TN. We invented bad drivers. This town is home to some of the most incompetent careless motorists on the road. I'm glad I got learn how to drive in this town. Free defensive driving course! I know Memphis isn't the only town with bad drivers. What all places and towns have you driven in and think the drivers are overall terrible? The couple of times I've been to Atlanta, I've seen some terrible and dangerous driving. Where else?
 
Northeast and the Great Lakes region has lot of bad drivers, plenty of them out there! Not that many bad drivers here in Pacific Northwest.
 
Nonconnah Parkway here in Memphis is commonly referred to as the African Audobahn. Not for the faint at heart.
 
With how bad I've seen traffic congested in NY and LA always on tv, I can imagine there being a good amount of bad drivers.

with out a doubt philly is the worst!!!! i have driven though all 50 states canada and mexico. philly has the most expencive car insurence and the most people who will be happy to give you a finger with a smile.
the close #2 is phoenix ,az......when it rains! everybody driving at 80 mph suddenly slow to 5mph at the first drop! oh my god!!!!water from the sky!!!!aaaaaaaa!
thank god i drive a motorcycle!!!
 
:eek: I think Rhode Islanders can be such terrible drivers. Tailgating, pulling out in front of a person, cutting people off on Interstate 95. It's scary getting behind a wheel today, it's not pleasant to drive anymore. There is always someone that has to ruin it for us.
 
trust me...florida is FULL of bad drivers. u can ask Nancy and Oceanbreeze. ur lucky if someone uses their turn signal...and ur even more lucky if they go in the direction that their turn signal is implying. i was behind one car...the turn signal said they were going left, but they went right. seriously...there are some STUPID people driving.
 
Everywhere theres pretty much alot of bad drivers even in hilo hawaii alot of intersections poeple do not know how to let other poeple go first or use a respect of takng turns also in kona too too many tourist drive like crazy!

LOL I've seen drivers on a long straight road, and I was on a corner of it from another road going to that same road. Well, sometimes they don't give a turn signal when they are turning in where I was, so I wasn't sure if they are going straight pass me or they are turning in....That's why I always wait until they pass and everything is clear, when I stop at a stop light or stop sign. You don't ever know where they are really going, so I let them go first. :)
It's better to be safe than sorry. :)
 
Well, there is Mexico .. you cannot beat them for bad drivers. Everyone comes to a standstill at an intersection and no one wants to give an inch.

In my area, watch out for little old men in felt hats. They can barely see over the steering wheel and their minds are on their childhood. The little old ladies are somewhat better and THEY have the good sense to realize when they should no longer be driving!
 
EVERYWHERE have bad drivers not just one place near my home also have bad drivers
when i was on my way home those idiots just change the lanes so close to other cars jeez i said to myself why can't they just slow down and pass when it is empty

They don't know HOW to brake ahead of time to give the cars BEHIND it a warning! And everybody is in RUSH and it results in TRAFFIC JAMS! Think, People, THINK! Slow... Relax... Let people get in the lane... That lane is not YOUR lane... Back off....


I don't think Flordia got bad drivers-- they just got Sunday drivers. :)
 
When comparing Atlanta and Memphis drivers, I think of it like this. Memphis has bad drivers just because people are stupid. Atlanta drivers are bad because they are insane and don't care.
 
Since I have always lived near the I-95 corridor, I have seen quite a few bad drivers in various areas. For a long time, I would peg the New Yorkers (NYC) amongst the worst. I learned later that there certain "rules" you have to learn first and then it "sort of" makes sense.

I wasn't until I was in Boston and in a cab that I quickly revised my opinion. Bostonians are the worst drivers I have ever seen. Talk about just plain bad and nasty too! They don't let you cut in, even if there is 90 degree turn in the road - they don't slow down for nothing, going from 3 to 2 or 2 to 1 lanes is an exercise in playing chicken, and the list goes on.

I'm a long time Washingtonian (who lives elsewhere now) and I have to admit they can be pretty bad. My favorite one is where you are on the beltway and you watch an idiot realize that his exit is coming up fast and they are in the fast lane. They simply floor it and go from the left side all the way to the right side trying to catch the exit and totally oblivious to the other drivers... :jaw:

HAHAHAHA!!! AGREED! am from florida... i think west palm beach is the worst... lotta of oldies go sooo slowwwww... and last min, turn on right or left.. gee!



Myself, i think i drive just fine, but uggh sometime i get angry at people for driving stupid... if they go soo close behind my car, i would brake quick.. to scare them off...

I've seen bad driving in just about every big cities of California, and even in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia where I lived for 6.5 years. It's not oriented to one part of the USA.
