Hello you lovely people

i'm super quite new to this... but at the moment i'm studying year 12 in Australia.. and i need some help with a year 12 project.

i'm making a device for the deaf & hearing impaired and wanted to conduct a survey and was hoping you guys would be able to help me out?
basic information of my project is..
you plug in your phone/mp3 player.. and it converts all the audio into vibrations and colour. each different note has it's own individual vibration and colour.

do you think it's useful?
do you have an opinion on it's shape? size? texture?
is there anything you would want in addition e.g. handles, straps.
WOuld it be an inconvenience?

if you have any other questions or comments please reply here or feel free to email me on claud.chow@gmail.com

i would much appreciate your thoughts and comments.
Thank you

Ummmm.... can I ask how this invention benefits the Deaf / HoH community? Or how it's any different than having a computer with media player that plays different colors and themes based on your preferences and/or settings? ( With the speakers loud enough it vibrates ) or most cell phones for that matter...

I can't really honestly see how this provides any benefit to us... Which is my major head scratching issue... Seriously, why... would anyone... buy something... like this....? What would it do for us? What is it's benefit? Most of us have laptops and cellphones for this already, and don't need an extra un-needed expense.

My honest opinion being Deaf myself, is that I wouldn't use it. :dunno2: Why do I need to turn music into vibrations and color? :hmm: Speaking pre-C.I. being stone Deaf not hearing a peep, I wouldn't have cared to have something vibrating and colorful displaying music I couldn't hear... What do I need that for?! Speaking post-C.I. now currently, I can hear music and still wouldn't need it. :dunno2: I can see both sides of the spectrum for the Deaf, pre and post C.I. and like I said, I wouldn't be interested in it before or after my implant was done. Not to mention as far as portability is concerned, most people have phones more advanced than older laptops and little tablets they carry everywhere to do anything we need. Again, that's just my personal take on it.

Thank you for your honest opinion. I can definitely understand where you are coming from and I appreciate your reply.
