Assistants given help with deaf - icWales
A CHARITY is hosting a course for Welsh teaching assistants who work with deaf children in mainstream schools.
The National Deaf Children’s Society (NDCS) is hosting a two-day course for learning support and teaching assistants next month, in Cardiff.
The course will cover topics such as understanding childhood deafness, deaf-friendly teaching, and technology.
Elizabeth Bryan, Wales Programme Coordinator said: “There are 35,000 deaf children living in the UK and over 80 per cent are educated in mainstream schools, so it is essential that all teaching professionals understand the needs of deaf children.”
The course takes place on Tuesday, February 19 and Wednesday, February 20, from at the Novotel, Tyndall Street, Cardiff. For more information visit What's on | NDCS or contact the NDCS team on 029 2037 3474.
