Baltimore police are announcing an arrest in last month's fatal beating of an elderly deaf man at an apartment building for the disabled.
Raymond Hopewell, 34, is charged with first-degree murder in the death of Carlton Crawford.
Officers responding to a noise complaint on Aug. 21 found Crawford, 82, dead on his bedroom floor at the Foxwell Memorial Apartments on Greenspring Avenue in Northwest Baltimore. Crawford had lived in the building since 1983.
