Are you going to drool on this Tesla car?

Hmm... Tesla sounds like a good name for an electric car like this.

I'm familiar with a famous scientist named Nikola Tesla who worked with electricity.

Yeah Telsa was around the same time as Edison. I believe the two weren't real good friends.:rifle:

Edison was a DC man, Tesla was an AC man (he also invented the AC motor in the 1880's).

I've heard battery powered cars are really not green energy. Unless the electricity is hydro in its source, the emissions from a fossil fuel powered power station is greater than a fossil fuel powered car.

Any one else heard that?
It's actually the opposite. The regulations on power plants are far higher. Recent generation Natural Gas turbines extract far more energy out of the fuel(50%+) than any ICE(~20-25%) and produce and order of magnitude less pollution.

I think I would rather buy a car that use biofuel than one that use elec. But I got to wait until my town have a biofuel station...sigh. I have heard some states in the north and midwest already have station like that.

$100,000 for that electric car buys you a $100,000 3 bedroom average sized house in Texas. ;)

Ford did build electric cars but only lease them, not selling them.
SilentWolfDog - Biofuel? Do you mean E85? If so, you got to make sure that your car can take it. If not, you can have it converted. My car can't take E85 :(
I am all for electric cars, fuel cell cars so we can be free from oil dependance.

no need to worry about the fuel or the battery ... :giggle:

:giggle: A real life flinstone car? Ha ha. My feet would be burned out from all the running on that human powered vehcile.

I seen this car before on discovery channels "Green fuel" series or w/e it was. It looks like a yellow GT40 ford, minus hardtop and smaller. The guy raced it against a fuel using car and well..... smoked the other car I think, which was a sports car ..... i forgot.

That reminds me of one ep from "Pimp my Ride" where they fix an old truck (or car I can't remember which one) into a new vehicle that used biodiesel and they raced against viper and new vehicle actually won.

That owner also got free one year worth of biodiesel. Lucky him.
