Yea, Buck is stupid in making false assumptions. He wasn't following what was really going on. First of all, it is now post Labor day weekend, and in the last 35 years, I have seen price drops considerable after the labor day weekend! Secondly, scientist just found new, but huge oil reserve off Gulf of mexico! Once there is new and huge reserve, the oil prices will surely drop, hence the law of supply and demand!!! That is NOTHING NEW! Nothing to do with which parties at all!

Let's clarify one thing buck. The Republicans and Democrats can be cooperative when it is something they mutually agree on. Maybe in the last two decades (or so) it hasn't happened that often but it does happen now and then.

Reagan simply was agreeing with the rising sentiments against the national speed limits especially from the larger states (Texas, Montana and others itching for faster speed limits). On top of that, gas was relatively "cheap" again at the time and making the limit a moot point then.

We Have European Style highways that are ment to be driven fast on.Look at Germanys autobahn you can go as fast as 100MPH and not be pulled over by the PIGS!!
