I thought I'd like to start a thread in Deaf Technologies and Products forum, but because this is software, I am thinking it may be better to post it here.
I have a TTY connected to my Motorola VT2142 Phone Adapter and I am a happy Vonage customer. However, one problem I have is with when I use my TTY to type a greeting message in the Voicemail service: I made too many changes over the limit, somehow I typed a letter but somehow made a mistake and because it's realtime, everytime I type a mistake, mistakes will be recorded realtime. Plus, I have to type fast as to help save caller's time on typing a message to me. Because I look veery close to the screen, this makes my back tired. After too many changes over the limit, the Vonage voicemail system said "goodbye" to me; thus I felt like I've irritated the voicemail system and I just let go of it... :p I could get a Large Vision Display but it's expensive, so I'm going with a software route, which I can use a modem (I'll probably have to go buy a modem that's compatible with the TTY, since my laptop's just a data/fax modem) with a TTY software.
The two TTY software programs are:
Since I used NexTalk at Helen Keller National Center in Long Island, NY, I really like it a lot.
I have a question about MyTTY. Does anybody use MyTTY? If yes, how good is MyTTY? As I've read about MyTTY:
Is this true? Will any 56k modem with with MyTTY? Especially my laptop's modem? My laptop is an HP zv6130us and the modem I have is CXT AC97 Data Fax SoftModem with SmartCP (though I don't know what "SmartCP" is).

Software That Lets Your PC Work Like a TTY!
Save the cost of purchasing expensive TTY equipment and modems, just load My TTY onto your PC and stay in touch with friends, family members and customers. My TTY is a computer program that runs under the Microsoft Windows operating system. It allows your computer to communicate over the telephone line in Baudot code (the code used by TTYs). Virtually any voice modem with good sound quality can be used with My TTY.
