Anyone got Verizon FiOS?

I recently got Verizon FiOS and I'm loving it! 15mbps/2mbps! Pretty fast Internet Access.. My dad ordered triple bundle; Phone, Internet, and TV.. I love FiOS TV because it has too many channels and always have something on! I often watch movies on FEARnet. The service is wonderful, reliable, and I don't have any problems with it.

-Glad to be back after 2 years. lol
 
why ask us? FIOS have certain area where company would control.
 
We have Verizon FiOS since first week of Feb, 2008. Right now, we are waiting on list for HDTV DVR. They are excellent service and not bad price for higher speed internet. We got nice speed internet.



 
At first I thought FiOS would be great and looking forward until I work as Networking specialist, I learn alot about FiOS, they are nice and yes very fast. BUT there is con about this. FiOS is single node, meaning only one public IP address can be assigned. Useless if you have more than 1 VP. So I decide not worth it and abandoned that idea.
 
we recently ordered Fios Tv here, and is wondering about if fios internet is able to work with vp? since i read up that it has its own router and is not compatible with any router. so I am wondering who has it and can confirm that? we ordered dsl already but wondering about fios internet...
 
We have no problem with FIOS and VP since first week of feb.
Not remember what I did little fix.
Best way to ask VP's tech support. They will help you.
You make list of modem, router, etc.. Then ask tech support.
 
This is not true, it will work with just about any router as long as you know how to set it up properly.

There is two ways to do it, first one is to use IP-passthough to the router meaning killing the gateway function on modem and let router take over, OR Kill DHCP server on router and act as switch (If wireless is included, it will turn into switch AND wireless access-point). It will work that way.

Now, I remember that you have to turn off Firewall for VP since they installed FIOS at your 192.168.X.X and user/password .
Not same IP address from old DSL and new FIOS.
