Mine is too. u are not the only one. I did that same thing, too. When I was single, I used to call my deaf friends a lot of more times on the tty than face to face. That's why I had a plm communicating with sign language, I was not good at it but I did try to meet some of dhh who are just like me. And even, now I'm still learning becuz some of sign language are new to me.
I'm also bit of shy when it comes to meet a new friend, I actually don't say it much in the beginning becuz I don't know anyone that well, it depends on the individual personality. If I know this person that often then I will feel more welcome getting to know him better. That's how I tried to break my shyness in each time I meet.

I do enjoy going out with large groups of people, provided there are several I know well, but I also cherish my close friends and like spending time alone with them. And, of course, I value my personal time, of which I have too much these days.
