Here is the site....someone will call you and say you missed jury duty and there is a warrant out for you. Their really pushy and will ask for your information. Please don't do it!!! This came from my neighborhood watch program. Sorry if it's already been posted.

FBI — Jury Duty Scam

Haven't heard of that one, but good to post it...I'm still geting emails from the 'FBI Headquarters in Washington"....Robert Mueller...saying I was going to jail for fairure to respond about some $$ that was in my name...and some other "garbage"....so I just respond..."Go ahead...whip me...beat me...make me write out bad checks"....:giggle:

They sent me a email around 2 months ago...saying it was "My Final Notification".....:giggle:...still getting 'em...

glad I don't have to worry about it. incoming calls are automatically blocked on my iphone. as for emails, I never respond to any of those emails... if it was legitimate, surely they'd contact me properly somehow. stupid pathetic scammers.

Makes me wonder how I can block incoming calls on my Android phone. Can anyone tell me? I don't want to field any calls especially if I cannot return them.

One advantage of using VCO TTY all calls are "taped" and the Relay service accesses Bell TeleMessage service at my request. Part of my telephone bill-paid for by me. Duly advise them delete all "strange calls-won whatever/need house repairs etc.

I can't use my phone either. Most calls are blocked and they also show up on my TV with caller ID. I just hope by posting this that we would share with others and hopefully stop this scam. I think my youngest daughter would actually fall for this.

I am deaf. Thus a phone scam fails. I also google any number I don't know. Don't want to waste time on a relay call that is for some con

I had AT&T block incoming calls on my phone for me. Did the same when I was with T-mobile's service.

I am always amazed at how these agencies get my email address. :hmm:
The IRS, FBI, etc messaging me with threats of jail time. :run:

Yep...me too!...I've been threatened with jail time also...:giggle:...and since I've never been...wondering if those Bologna sandwiches are still served in jail?....I'm nuts about roast beef...and was wondering if they would consider that....

It MIGHT work in your country, but won't work here in United States. Have to inform other party that you are recording the conversation and if you get okay from other party then you got it. If they said no then your pretty much stuck.

Also keep in mind, police, judge, agencies WILL never threat you with warrants over phone, E mail, text, etc they are not allowed to do so without being in present with the offender. If you have a warrant, the marshal will be at your doorstep, not over phone. This is how you can identify scammers.

Now, you see... Why do you think cops won't call you and threat you with arrest warrant? They KNOW that if they do that, the chance of flight risk of an offender increases (Offenders usually will attempt to escape if they get hint), that is why they won't call you.

My advice.... don't response these kinds of E mail, why? Because there is possiblity a coding embedded in their E mail correspondence and if you respond, it can trigger the code which might include virus, malware, keylogger, etc in attempt to get your personal information and steal from you. Don't respond E mail at all cost, go other way around is best, like check up phone book for that company phone number and use that to call them to verify. If they said no, we didn't send you anything.... Scammer lost the game right there.

marshal? what for? they only deal with apprehending fugitives and transporting prisoners.

it will most likely be FBI.

I had US Marshal in front of my door once, why? Foreclosure procedure where my last landlord screwed up with mortgage. I am, and the landord is also not even fugitive from law at all. It was rather interesting, I am not sure why the judge ordered marshal hand deliver the court notice at my doorstep. My reaction was, thanks for let me know and I never respond again because it is NOT my problem and I decided to act fast to find other place to live rather than fiddle with them and deal with eviction when I had done nothing wrong.

Court can use any kind of authority under oath to send out summons, warrants, etc. They can be marshal, sheriff, police officer, etc depends on available and the purpose of serving the summons, warrants or something else.

Also, if it is Federal crime, usually US marshal, FBI will get involved, I have seen it happen.

A Marshall came out to my parents home and arrested me when I was younger for unpaid traffic tickets. At the time, I had around 26 tickets or so (and 26 failure to appear warrants on top of them). I was looking at around 6 months to pay off the total fines (at the time it was $50 per day in jail).

Thankfully, they were all dismissed the following morning.

Jiro, see? Marshal is not limited to apprehend fugitive and transport prisoners. In his (NitroHonda) case normally local sheriff would be the one who take care of this.

It was a city ticket. The City of Pasadena. Marshal is just a job title for the PSD officer.

Yup, I know. I believe what really happened is availability for court to send out summons or arrest warrant. They pick whatever is available and ASAP. However, in case where there is high risk of flight of any offender they will send out well trained to handle this with minimal risk for bystanders.

Sometimes, request of outside jurisdiction officers can be used as well, it happens when two towns have issues with specific accusers.

I understand and agree.

I should have been a little more clear... You stated that usually they would send out the sheriff to handle this. I was trying to clarify that a sheriff is county and city is city. Different PDs and completely unrelated to each other. I would have never seen a sheriff's deputy come pick me up for a city charge.

You bring up an interesting scenario. Requesting out of jurisdiction assistance. I don't know how it really works. Just a vague idea. I think that they can have other counties accompany them but not necessarily arresting people at their biding. It's definitely something I would like to read up a little on.

I have watch cops too much back then. I found out that when there is hearing or something and suspect trying to evade the justice and committed previous case or appears to be dangerous to public and high flight risk and cops from a town chasing that kind of suspect, with communication of cops at next town, or county and rare case another state. Often suspect who try to outrun cops thinking that once they cross that line they are free but cops at other side of line is waiting for him. This has happened and the only condition is clear communication and authorization granted by chief of both sides. But if they don't communicate the other side, then the other side can not do nothing.

I also got speeding ticket when driving on the side of town, the other side of town cop gave me ticket ANYWAY, and I went up to court, and the judge said that two towns has agreed on patrolling authorization on that same road for few years. I was on town of Henrietta, and the cop was from town of Brighton. (No, it is not county sheriff, just town police) I lost fight. LOL

Court usually prefers county sheriff to send out notice cause it is cheapest for them, sending Marshal, court would have to pay Uncle Sam for this service. I found out about this after boring on jury duty the other day, terp been there all the time told me this and that, sometimes when in court room, tero tells me everything and I learn from this and that.

I understand and agree.
