Remember when Comcast started capping their usage to 250G a month? If you repeatly go over 250G a month your account will be closed?

Now AT&T is joining the game and thier first DSL package will be capped at 20G a month and if you go over the cap then it will be $1 per Gigabytes ....

Oh, fuck to att.

Comcast has 250 GB, that's plenty but att isn't.

Life goes on.

Keep in that, that is for lowest one. The highest one will have max of 150GB.

Yup, I noticed it.

I don't like capping on network usage, however I can't imagine if I goes over the limit.

They are basically going after the hogs that download alot more than average users does.

what a fokin' twat... ATT was given BILLIONS of dollars from federal government about 10 years ago to completely upgrade its aging infrastructure to meet the demand - fiber optic technology. You know what ATT has done so far? NOTHING. They are a Domestic Dissent. :mad2:

As far as I'm concerned, they do have fiber optics all over where I live.
I considered getting their service that has so many channels that it put cable to shame and even faster speed internet for a decent price. I however decided to keep my current dsl for time being.

Comcast will not close someone's account if he/she went over 250G a month but will charge him/her extra on next bill.

But 250G is really aplenty for many users except for few hogs.

If ATT does charge more for those who use more than 20G, it isn't good news for many users there. Too little room for sure!

Wonder what future holds for us by limiting more and more... hope not. Obama and FCC, prevent that to occur!

What would happen if people keep going over is they will end up paying per gig or meg which is what the company would love!

Or raise price to cover going over the cap.

Can anyone give me a general idea, via examples, how much 20 gigs is?

CD is 700mb
DVD is 4.7gb so let's round it to 5gb.
so 20 gigs (which is also 20,000mb) is equivalent to 4.5 - 5 dvds or 29 CDs.

Does that answer your question or were you asking how much 20gb would cost you?

At least, it's good news to halt on illegal download stuff.

It would probably bad news for users who own device that is legal to download movie. ehhhhh!

If they download movies, all they will need to do is move to higher speed that has a higher cap or cap is removed.

of course! Unless the users is totally addict and rich to download too much. haha

Those with VP will have to get AT&T higest DSL package or last package to get 150G cap.

I don't think 20G will be enough for VP usage in a month or will be too close to usage unless you rarely use VP.

Ooo! I forget about it. haha. For heavy user on videophone, that would be terrible!

I wonder if the company would waive the cap if we call them and tell them that we use VP in order to stay connected with others?
