Analog broadcasts will end in 2009

I like my TV Analog (4:3), I don't like 16:9 becuase easy Closed Caption on screen top or buttom without picture, I can read both picture and CC.. but will end 2006, become Digital TV, no more 4:3, I can't see picture becuase CC on picture (share picture and cc on one screen). top and buttom is black and CC, I love it 4:3
 
personally, i have HDTV lcd with 16:9 widescreen. i do not have a problem with digital CC on widescreen. i LOVE IT ! 4:3 regular screen is allright, but 16:9 widescreen is just AWESOME and love it... i can see more players on football game from side to side on wide screen than i do on 4:3 screen....

it is time for new techie thing to change for yall ! :dunno:
 
I'm sure with my big analog tv eating up space in my room, I'd be more than happy to trade it up for a bigger flat plasma screen I can hang up on the wall.

I idea

if buy
1) Viewsonic HD12
2) any big VGA, XVGA, UXGA etc..

watch 16:9 on 4:3 top and bottom are black, middle is widescreen, easy CC without widescreen, can see both, easy

I hope stay U/X/VGA 4:3 future?

Why plasma?
 
i think plasma is still good. i did math myself to see how long it wud last... it can live for 13 yrs if it is on for 6 hrs daily. i believe ppl wud replace for better tvs every 5 or 7 years. however plasma isnt good for video games. LCD is the best for video games.

You know that video games and some screen won't move like "HP, LIFE, score, etc.." Same idea VP's MENU, IP address, etc. won't move any.
 
Will that cause a big landfills of analog TV sets? They're still selling analog TV sets and the analog broadcasts ends in 2009, that's only 3 years left! I wonder if the digital TV broadcasts will be backwards compatible with analog TVs that people still use.

yes if keep analog, you buy set box viewsonic HD12 cost $350

Plasma is short life 3-5 years.
