Fayetteville-Cumberland Advisory Council for People with Disabilities has scheduled An In-depth Look at Deaf Culture for Jan. 18 from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Kiwanis Recreation Center, 352 Devers St. The planned speaker is Jeff Greer, deaf services specialist with the Department of Health and Human Services, Division of Services for the Deaf and the Hard of Hearing. Participants will learn about the essential features of American Sign Language grammar, the rules of ASL, practice basic dialogues in ASL and learn about deaf culture, technology and other adaptations.
