This was a good meet, and a good time.

Good for you! It looks like you are in a commercial kitchen, but I have major vision issues, so probably not?

Actually we are. That's me in the black shirt, and we're at a gyros place that's near my home.

This is me sitting down. It was a small gyros place in Chicago area. We hope to meet again in the near future. It was great to have lunch and chat.

We talked a lot, and it was awesome. Some of what I told him included a fish hook through my finger (Yes, it hurts), and broken noses 5 times in my life, as well as tearing both knees.

I did talk about bikes and breaking my ankle. Believe it or not, but I didn't talk about turbo, ferrets, or cats at all.

It's pretty cool if you can find a member in your town you have some same interests.

The only AD member I really know of in my town is a patient of my stepmother's audiologist friend, but I don't think we have anything but one mutual acquaintance in common.

I did talk bikes, as well, and I would've loved to tell cat tales, as I have a few.

We live only 3 miles or so from each other so we do plan to meet again in the close future.

There will be a lot more stories to swap.

Surprising enough, there are a lot of folks here in Festus that knows sign language... A worker at the Butcher shoppe, a worker at Hoods, a couple here in town and a few others....

There aren't that many around the Chicago area-- we wish there were more.

Nice that you met another ADer. I still cherish the big AD meetup in NYC 3 years ago. That was one of the best get together. Another one was when two ADers came into town and stayed at my place and my taking them to their first Deaf Professional Happy Hour.

Those two meetups, I will cherish forever.

Hmm. Now doing something like that here would be nice to do.

I hope that the homicide rate of Chicago does not scare people. I'm pretty careful to navigate places that don't resemblance the Wild West shooting.

Like the South Side? I don't go past Canal unless I'm on the Amtrak.

That's cool that you got to meet in person!!! I don't there ther eis much chance of me meeting anyone from forum in person or at leats not any time soon. BUt then if I do go to Tampa, Florida with Mew....I might just party a lot.

That should be a memorable one for you. I hear the beaches down there are nice, and the water a nice shiny blue.

Figured. Only way I'm going down there is if someone offered me a pretty penny to risk getting shot at, among other things.
