Alice Shrugged Workshop

I saw this at DR yesterday and I thought that it was cool that you (PFH) had a hand in sponsoring this by providing the facilities, etc for this workshop.

Now, as for the workshop itself, it is yet another discourse on social injustice in the workplace, the educational setting, etc for the deaf and hard-of-hearing. Those issues continue to be valid focal points for discussion, enlightening others, ect......the sticking point being the dearth of power, etc to do a whole lot about resolving these issues. I am 68 years old and have heard the same old things recycled time and time again with popular catch phrases of the day......deafhood being the latest, for example. Most of the rest of the world seem immovable, it appears to me....but nevermind me and keep up with the good work.

To clarify - I didn't provide the facilities. Avery did.

I understand what you're saying. I feel that Facundo Element take a big step forward mainly because they are focused on media.

I wanted to but I am at work. My work computer blocked this link. I ll watch it at home when i get a chance to leave you some comments.

FF, maybe you can see it at Deafread from work?

I only can see pictures of the individual and group but not video. Surprise that don m is in there. cool! i dont know the rest of them except pfh and don. cool.

I would love to be involved in these workshops. I love how the "reporter" was portrayed in the "interview" because it does show how our deafness become the primary focus for something that we have accomplished. Sometimes, it gets seriously annoying.

I watched the video and it is very good to try to explain about framing and jobs (discrimination). I would love to look forward to having more videos on this workshop unless different workshops. It is good to try to understand and get the messages of what everyone is saying. PFH, thank you for showing this video. :thumb:

It's great PFH, although my fluency in ASL is just in the beginning stages, I could get the gist of what was being discussed. Thanks for sharing with us.
