If it were in a position to do so, Al Qaeda would use Pakistan's nuclear weapons in its fight against the United States, a top leader of the group said in remarks aired Sunday.

Your opinion? I think Pakistan has to do much more to protect their nuclear arsenals so they would not be fallen into the Al Qaeda's hands.

Pakistan boldly claimed that nukes have been relocated to a more secured location. Obama assured us that it is secured as well but..... I hope that's true.....

I'm not sure I understand. The plan will be enacted to secure the nuclear arsenals in case the Pakistan government collapsed due to Talibans/Al Qaeda/Islamic Fundamentalists.

It is very vital that Americans do this quickly otherwise it is likely that India will launch pre-emptive strike (possibly nuclear) at Pakistan.

interesting question. I actually didn't think of that. I would say - it's a political disaster and a serious irresponsibility not to authorize the plan but if the President didn't.... hmmmm

I would say India and Pakistan will have a war that will make Afghanistan/Iraq War looks like a Red Alert game.

Well, think about it. Why should we be afraid of one little country that we could easily wipe off the map?

Answer: Because it's NOT just one little country. It's that one little country and his buddies who are much more powerful. All it takes is ONE nuke to wipe out civilization.

And, you're right about the BFF comment, too. But, I don't think any country is BFF. It seems that every country has traded arms back and forth. Hell, back in the 80s we GAVE arms to Iraq for God sake!

yep you're right. it's just a dirty dirty dirty business out there but it was in past cuz it was a Cold War era. We funded Saddam to combat against Iran and Syria and then later Saddam went rogue on us. We funded Osama bin Laden to combat against U.S.S.R. and then later bin Laden went rogue on us.

now we're paying for our old mistakes. USA is no saint but we do the best we can. Right now - it's certainly a lot better than nobody (typically Europeans) taking any action against tyranny such as Bosnia (mass genocide) and Somalia (mass starvation). I pray that Obama will intervene in Darfur now.

Guess what? Americans are the first to take military action against Somalia pirates. You know what Europeans have been doing? paying them off. It's exactly what they did back in old time. that's just theory only in paper. The method of deliverance is another whole world. These countries like Pakistan and NK lack technology to launch nuclear missile to a pinpoint location - all because of American intervention. We will continue to prevent any rogue countries from acquiring advanced targeting technology.

No. Not 500 miles radius. Much less of a radius to wipe out with today's nuclear bombs we have. You need to understand something about the use of nuclear relative to the kiloton or megaton in explosive power (tons of TNT equivalent). With the largest ever detonated, 50 megaton, you needed a cargo transport plane just to carry a bomb that weighed 27 tons. Anyways, go here for a better nuclear bomb scenario.

Even with a typical 340 kiloton warhead would only immediately wipe out about a 8 to 10 mile radius. The rest of the wiping out would be from radiactive fallout. Not a 500 mile radius. That would be an asteroid impact to do that kind of damage.
