The New York Times fronts a Douglas Jehl report contends that Ibn al-Shaykh al-Libi, a high level al Qaeda prisoner used as a major source by the Bush administration in its attempts to link Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden, was previously identified as unrealiable in a February 2002 Defense Intelligence Agency document.

So, it looks like the stuff about direct ties between Saddam and bin Laden was made up by an al Qaeda prisioner. :eek2:

This is kind of an old post but for some reason I missed it. I should have checked the dates prior to replying :bye:

Yeah...but some would have us believe that George Bush made it all up as an excuse to go get the oil in Iraq and to "finish what his daddy didn't"

Somebody who was believed to have been a reliable source turned out not to be....it does not make it George Bush a liar.

Nawwww, Bush's lies make him a liar.

Consider this metaphor: The government is a large body of water. Between the land of the public and the government is a dam. Our journalists sit by the wall, earnestly waiting sack the next governmental Hans Brinker in sight. When that happens, tsunamis of last year become today's headlines.
