Agnosticism

I'm curious if there are any Agnostic individuals here. I've always been intrigued by this particular belief. For those who do not know, Agnosticism is the belief that the answer to the question of whether God exists or not cannot be answered or proven. Several times I've pondered this belief, but I always find myself being pulled back towards my faith.

Well here's an interesting question......Does belief in God mean the Judeo-Christian God or God in genral? Is it someone who follows the teachings of Jesus, but does not believe that Jesus is God? Is it someone who doesn't follow an established religon? Personally I believe in a Higher Power, who for lack of a better name I'll call God. Yet, I don't believe that Jesus is the Answer! Does that make me an agnostic?

To be honest I'm not sure. I would assume it means the entire concept of divinty. Whether or not such things as a spiritual world exist. I've always viewed there bring three distinct categories of spiritual beliefs: spiritual, agnostic, and atheist.

Heretic, where is that quote from? Or is it your own brainchild? Either way I like it. You may view this indecisiveness as a negative, but I see it the other way: a category of individuals who do not claim to know the truth, and do not pretend to know.
That is something I respect.

On the brighter side, here is a quote I learned in high school. "Pity the poor Agnostic, dyslexic imsoniac. He stays up all night wondering if there really is a dog." Gold star for whoever gets that.

No, because an agnostic refuses to come down either side of the fence and decide whether there is a God or not. S/He may think there is insufficient evidence or reason to conclude either way, so s/he withholds judgment.

That you believe in a "higher power" disqualifies you from joining the Agnostics team. :)

It is a paraphrase from a very pregnant line I read in the Genealogy of Morals.
