AFA joins with Coral Ridge Ministries to offer The Da Vinci Delusion

The Da Vinci Code is an attack on the very foundation of the Christian faith and it threatens to lead millions to believe that Jesus Christ was a fraud.

Dear Friend of the Family,

I have just finished watching The Da Vinci Delusion, produced by my good friend, Dr. D. James Kennedy, and Coral Ridge Ministries. It is absolutely great! It is a DVD which Christians need to watch.

On May 19, a blockbuster movie - The Da Vinci Code - will open in theaters. The book has sold nearly 40,000,000 copies. The book and movie make several false claims:

Jesus and Mary Magdalene were man and wife.
The New Testament is false testimony.
There were 80 gospel accounts of Christ's life.
The Roman emperor Constantine gave us the New Testament.
The divinity of Jesus is an invention of fourth-century church leaders at the Council of Nicea.
While the book and movie claim to be based on fact, they clearly are not. Tragically many people, even Christians, will go away believing the book and movie are factual.

While the book's characters and their actions are obviously not real, the artwork, architecture, documents, and secret rituals depicted in this novel all exist (for example, Leonardo Da Vinci's paintings, the Gnostic Gospels, Hieros Gamos, etc.). These real elements are interpreted and debated by fictional characters. While it is my belief that some of the theories discussed by these characters may have merit, each individual reader must explore these characters' viewpoints and come to his or her own interpretations. My hope in writing this novel was that the story would serve as a catalyst and a springboard for people to discuss the important topics of faith, religion, and history.

Unknown. None of us were there, and there's no proof-positive evidence of it. Could be true, though.

Actually, no. The book doesn't make this claim. There were, however, 57 additional books of the Bible found in the Nag Hammadi library in the 40s, all written in Coptic and remnants from Chrisitan Gnosticism in the 300s. The only one of which there is a complete copy is the Gospel of Thomas.

This is statement is a misreading of the book's text. Constantine didn't create the New Testament, he rather presided over the Council which set what is canon and what is heresy.

See above. The Council of Nicea did not make Yeshua divine, but it did set that the texts which portray such would be canon and those that had different views would be considered heresy.
 
There are argument abut this. Not christians, I have seen who aren't christians cutting down christians claiming that de vinci code is a fact and all this christians are delusionals. As it is written which is a fact, that apostasy is growing and explain approaching the end times and going on in middle east and jews are flocking to israel and etc. And its been happening now. Da Vinci code, I m not interesting how they view if say just a novel or fact. Yes, I'm glad Dr James Kennedy sending out dvd of this issue, which I haven't heard anything about that. I think that will be good. Smile. Thanks Reba for sending the message about that

If that bothers you, you can see why it bothers to see so many people believing in creation which science shows no support for it.
 
Oh lord..... this is a redicious post.....It's NOT anti-Christian....It is FICTION, FICTION.....MADE UP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! It's not like he came out with a scholarly book that claimed all that stuff!
And Donold Wildmon is an extremely conservative person who would probaly consider Bob Jones University to be too libreal!
