Ad-Hoc my Vp-200?

I was hoping there is a way with this. My computer is connected through wireless network and my router is in other side of the house. I read about it is possible for other computer to connect to another computer through Ad-Hoc (like ethernet cable connect to both computer). So i was thinking of two thing. have a other router ad-hoc my computer and use my computer as a bridge to my router/modem (ATT 2wire). then that router connect to my VP-200? or have my vp-200 directly connect to my computer?

My computer is XP SP3, Linksys PCI Wireless card connected with hi-gain antenna
