Acupunctures

From time to time, I have read about someone having an "acupuncture" to cure them of some kind of illness or condition. An "acupuncture" is some kind of medicine that doctors use these long "pins" to put slightly in the skin of some area on the body.

So far, my questions for this topic:

1. Have any of you ever had an "acupuncture" done? Know anyone who does?

2. Does "acupuncture" really work?
 
I had one about 5 years ago.. It really worked for me. I had this to ease my headaches (migraines). It was not that bad, but you have to be TOTALLY relax when they put needles all over the head and body to ease the tenses. It's was really interesting and I would mind to do it again if I have do.
 
My co worker is having her done twice a week. She said it want that bad but it help her the back pain that she is having.
