from WW2. He's showing off a few things that he brought back, like captured pistols, knives, etc.
His father asks about the grenade he has and his son says "Watch this." He pulls the pin and throws it behind the outhouse.
After the explosion, the young man's grandfather staggers from the outhouse and says "I'm glad I didn't fart like that in the house."
