I didn't know that advanced cell technology was so far along that these treatments will progress to human trials in a few months.

I wonder if there is stem cell therapy for deafness. I also wonder if there was would it be shunned by some in the D/deaf community as the CI is.

This is nothing new. Stem cell treatment can be used for all kinds of conditions, illnesses and disorders. This idea has been around for quite awhile.

I would imagine to some it would matter.

Of course there are always going to be some in the Deaf community who will be against it. If so, that's their problem.

Yeah, Hear Again, I know the idea has been around a while. I am interested in the human trial aspect of it. (I hasten to add that the FDA did not yet approve of this procedure, but I fully expect them to.) As far as I know, this is the first time stem cell treatment will be used on humans for blindness. At least, that is what I gather from my google search, I could be wrong. Pretty interesting, all in all.
